Participants will be familiarized with criminal and civil liability considerations related to probation contacts. Specifically, this course will cover: pertinent federal and state law (civil and criminal liability); the complaint and litigation process; immunities; direct and vicarious liability considerations; third-party detentions; and performance management strategies. Participants will engage an active-learning environment in which they discuss legally sound and practical approaches to resolving scenarios in compliance with policy and the law.
